Dream Goal Left You a Voicemail, “Stop Waiting”

We have #UMSLPride in being one of the newer departments started on campus. How do you respond to the needs of people who need access to resources to help achieve their goal? You give those people what they want. For any students taking one of our awesome entrepreneurship courses, or just thinking about whether your business ideas if feasible, now is the best time to go for your next step. Entrepreneurship and academia are building a bridge to connect with each other because, although they may be on completely different industry spectrums in terms of structure, they both actually fall under the same learning environments of testing, collaborating, and continuous improvement.

UMSL Accelerate’s future will see an increase in “Powered By” accelerators, the start of an entrepreneurship learning center, increased brand awareness, potential funding, exposure to investors, and Ideation Labs where challenges seek out problem-solvers. Creating opportunities like this at UMSL can have a great long-term impact for entrepreneurs and their interests in problem-solving. To top all that off, students will then be able to leave UMSL as entrepreneurs with a fully functioning company.

We are already seeing changes on the state level, St. Louis is now ranked in the top 7 cities to compete with Silicon Valley for entrepreneurship and startups, the renewable energy is on the rise in Missouri, and the Cambridge Innovation Center on its way to building a third location in St. Louis, startups in the Lou are on the rise as well. We know from previous Marketing campaigns that entrepreneurs choose UMSL because we are home to Strange Doughnuts, Snow Factory, Bee Zee Fair Trade Market, amongst many others. These entrepreneurs started out as students roaming class room hall ways, and eventually taking the lead on a life goal and future career towards success of opening up shop in their communities. Are you one of them? Stop by, entrepreneurship at our office is open for business.
