Blanche M. Touhill, former chancellor of the University of Missouri–St. Louis, has written a new book on the university’s history. Published by the Missouri Historical Society and distributed by the University of Chicago Press for the university’s 50th anniversary this year, the newest book is filled with more than 400 photos that provide a pictoral journey of St. Louis’ first public university through the decades. “A Photographic History of the University of Missouri–St. Louis, The First Fifty Years” depicts the excitement of creating a public university from the ground up.
