This poster by U.S. artist Emek is on display now at UMSL’s Gallery FAB.

Some of the world’s most prominent poster artists served on the jury that selected the artwork for the 2010 Chicago International Poster Biennial. Those seven jury members have their own work on display for “Chicago International Poster Biennial Juried Exhibit” now through Oct. 29 in Gallery FAB at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

The international jury includes Paula Scher, U.S.; Takashi Akiyama, Japan; Francois Caspar, France; Emek, U.S.; Marta Granados, Columbia; Holger Matthies, Germany; Rafal Olbinski, U.S./Poland.

“This show is sure to inspire students, school groups and professionals alike,” said Jennifer McKnight, assistant professor of art at UMSL, who helped organized the exhibit. “It’s quite a rare opportunity to see these posters.”

Posters designed by Paula Scher and exhibit catalogues will be on sale at the opening, or can be purchased by contacting McKnight at mcknightj@umsl.edu.

“Chicago International Poster Biennial Juried Exhibit” is sponsored by the Department of Art and Art History at UMSL. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Gallery FAB is at 201 Fine Arts Building at UMSL, Florissant Road and Rosedale Drive in Normandy, Mo. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday.
