Eye on UMSL: Scoreboard guru

If you go to a St. Louis Cardinals game, you’ll likely note the elaborate digital scoreboard graphics and videos. Those are brought to you by UMSL alumnus Bobby Sutherland (left), technical director at Busch Stadium.

Sutherland graduated from UMSL in December with a bachelor’s degree in media studies. He is shown here with John Mosbacher, director of video scoreboard at Busch Stadium, as they react to a highlight Sutherland loaded onto the scoreboard during a recent Cardinals homestand against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Cardinals went onto win the game 5-2 and took the four-game series from Pittsburgh.

The photograph was taken by UMSL photographer August Jennewein and is the latest to be featured in Eye on UMSL. Check back to UMSL Daily to read a full story on Sutherland that will be posted soon.
