UMSL senior Leanne Cantalupo was one of three Tritons to win in the first round of singles play at the ITA Regional. She also won her first doubles match with junior Natalia Carvalhais.

Men’s Soccer
The University of Missouri–St. Louis Tritons bounced back on Sunday defeating William Jewell 2-0 after suffering their first loss of the season on Friday with a 1-0 setback to Rockhurst. Junior Michael Schlempler scored his first goal this season to pace UMSL to the victory, while freshman Nick Werner scored the insurance goal. UMSL (6-1-1, 5-1 GLVC) travels to Missouri S&T on Friday before a contest at Drury on Sunday.

Women’s Soccer
UMSL lost weekend games to both Rockhurst (2-0) and William Jewell (1-0). Juniors Laura Hurlbut and Sidney Allen each recorded five shots on Sunday against William Jewell. The Tritons (5-3, 3-3 GLVC) travels to Missouri S&T on Friday before a contest at Drury on Sunday.

Volleyball
The Tritons defeated Quincy, 3-1, on Saturday after falling to Truman State, 3-1, on Friday. Junior Carly Ochs recorded a match-high 21 kills to pace the Tritons offense on Saturday and finished the weekend averaging 4.00 kills per set. The Tritons (7-4, 4-2 GLVC) travel across town to Maryville on Tuesday night before returning home Friday to host Missouri S&T. UMSL will then close out the week against Drury on Saturday..

Women’s Golf
UMSL finished in 10th place at the 26-team NCAA Division II National Preview, hosted by Grand Valley State last weekend. Junior Joana Yanez was the top finisher for the Tritons, tying for 31st place with a 164. The Tritons will travel to Boston, Mass., this weekend for the Merrimack U. Footjoy Classic.

Women’s Tennis
UMSL competed in the ITA Regional, hosted by Grand Valley State. The Tritons had three first round winners in singles play, including senior Leanne Cantalupo, junior Natalia Carvalhais and freshman Annie Hayes. In doubles, Hayes and junior Renee Verboven and Cantalupo and Carvalhais each won their first match. UMSL will close out the fall portion of its schedule this weekend, hosting its own tournament with Lindenwood, Maryville and Truman State all participating.
