Grace Hopper Celebration, here we come!

On October 18 a group from UMSL will go to Houston to join about 16,000 other people for the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing. We will have 15 people representing UMSL, and that does not count the alumnae who will be there representing their employers. The planning has started.

GHC is a three-day conference designed to bring together women in computing to discuss research and career interests. The conference includes presentations on a variety of topics, professional development activities, an open source day and much more. If you would like to learn more about the sessions, you can go to the Conference Overview page and see the specific sessions available.

The delegation is headed by Dr. Vicki Sauter, and will include Jamillah Boyd, 5 undergraduate students,  Brianda Cepeda, Kat Mierek, Bridget Murphy, Jamie O’Brien and Damon Walker.  The 6 graduate students attending are Alexius Gandy, Weijie Chen, Asha Gangineni,  Laburam Gowtham,  Jestika Gaijar, and Samyukta Varre.  In addition, Sophie Russo and Ashley Moss are being supported by scholarships from the Hopper organization.
