The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. Many obstacles stood in my way of fulfilling what I truly want out of my life. At this time, nothing is standing in my way. I have been attending at the University of Missouri St Louis since Spring of 2015. By the end of 2019, I will hold my Masters in Information Systems with a Certificate in Business Intelligence and my Bachelors in Information Systems with a Minor in Cybersecurity.
For me to attend this once in a lifetime event, I told myself that I need to just do it and get my name out there within the technology industry. I have had some luck with that where I live but I want to expand my networking chain. Most importantly, my two main reasons for wanting to attend this year is to be able to learn more on today’s technology and for the networking. I am looking forward to the different keynote speakers and the career fair. My ideal takeaway that I am looking forward to is being able to expand my knowledge with Women in Technology and advancing my skills.
