According to the CDC’s 2010 National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey, domestic violence affects more than 12 million people in the United States each year. This month, we have the chance to bring awareness to domestic violence, especially to those members of the campus community impacted by it. Below is a list of activities taking place in the month of October in support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. All are invited to attend! Please spread the word to faculty, staff, and students and help support the UMSL community!
Silent Witness Statues: October 10-14th, throughout campus
Show Support by Wearing Purple; #TritonsWearPurple: October 19th
Law and Order: Domestic Violence Laws: October 24th, 11:30 am to 1 pm, 494 Lucas Hall (Gender Studies Office)
