UMSL Community Pledges Their #1 Thing During Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Thank you to the UMSL community for coming to the HR/Title IX “#1 Thing” information table during Domestic Violence Awareness Month to share the #1 Thing you pledge to take action to promote social change.  Doing your part to end domestic violence may look different for each of us, but the one thing we all have in common is our ability to take action.  We received quite a few community pledges from  students, faculty and staff of the UMSL community and we wanted to share some with you:

Anthony pledged to “hold my hand out as encouragement for those who want to better themselves.”

Shelli pledged to “listen to victims and survivors without judgement and be a support system to help them through their trials.”

Cassidy pledged to “Make it known that I will help anyone – man or woman – who looks like they are in a bad situation.”

Harry said he would “be more aware of warning signs.”

Damien pledged to “keep my eyes open and say something.”

These are just a few of the community pledge cards we received and we wanted to say thank you for taking the time to stop by and make a difference!
