UMSL’s Title IX team has introduced a new and innovative mobile app with the aim of helping students learn about and report sexual assault and harassment.
On Monday, February 12, 2018, UMSL students were introduced to the “Reach Out Editions” app, This free mobile resource guide, is convenient and private. Students will never be asked for personal information, and use of the app is completely anonymous.
Jessica Swederske, Deputy Title IX Coordinator led the implementation of the app. “Our hope is that students will be more comfortable and more willing to report Title IX incidents because of the convenience of the app. It is our way to meet students where they are and provide them resources via technology they are familiar with.”
Reach Out Editions can be used to find:
- What to do if someone has been sexually assaulted or harassed
- On-and off-campus resources for victims of sexual violence and harassment
- Where to report incidents of sexual harassment and misconduct
- Information on UMSL’s Title IX team, where we are located, and how we can help
Please feel free to contact Dana Beteet Daniels or Jessica Swederske in the Title IX Office with any questions.
