IT Insight Gets a New Look

In August of 2024, ITS announced a new name for its newsletter, IT Insight. As part of our journey to continuous improvement in disseminating professional communications, we have designed a new look to keep our campus community engaged and updated with relevant, timely, and helpful information to support the use of technology for teaching, learning, research, and administrative functions. To read a previous edition of our newsletter, visit ITS Newsletters.

Printer Assessment on Jan. 28, 29, 30

UMSL has engaged a vendor to perform a complimentary Managed Print Services Assessment.

They will be on campus from Tuesday, Jan. 28 through Thursday, Jan. 30. During the assessment, the vendor’s team will visit all areas of the campus to gather crucial information about printers, scanners, and copiers utilized daily. The team will be identifiable with SumnerOne attire and badges. Please allow access to printers and/or scanners during this period.

Any questions about this assessment can be directed to Chris Scheetz.

New Help Desk Ticketing SystemTeamDynamix

Coming in early 2025, TeamDynamix (TDX), a comprehensive ticketing system, will replace Cherwell, the University of Missouri’s current ticketing system. When you submit a ticket in TDX, you will notice the main page will look different, but all of the Help Desk services will still be available. Read more details about this change or learn more about TDX.

UMSL GenAI – Jan. edition

In 2025, Information Technology Services (ITS) will be disseminating regular information and updates on how we use Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) responsibly here at UMSL. While we build out a web page that will be announced later, check IT Insight for new GenAI information each month. Read more

Free Microsoft 365 Training Courses

MU Division of IT is offering free Microsoft 365 training courses to faculty, staff, and students across the UM System. You can sign up for scheduled training sessions, book private/group training, or watch recordings from previous sessions. Training sessions are just 30-60 minute sessions. ITS Has New Neighbors

In February, ITS will welcome the School of Social Work and UMSL Global to the 4th floor of Express Scripts Hall (ESH) while campus reconstruction is ongoing in the quad. We look forward to seeing our colleagues soon!

Rave Guardian Safety App

As we begin a new semester, please remember that the Rave Guardian Safety App is free for students, staff, and faculty to download. This app turns a smartphone into a personal safety device and is an easy way to reach Campus Police. Find more information about the Rave Guardian Safety App.
