Previously, the university allowed employees to create a website on the UMSL web server and use the umsl.edu URL. This policy was discontinued, but the existing employee sites were permitted to remain outside of Cascade, the university’s content management system. To ensure compliance with federal digital accessibility regulations, UMSL will soon implement updates to its website policies. You may recall seeing a recent announcement on behalf of the Digital Accessibility Taskforce sent on 2/13/25 announcing that UMSL has until April 2026 to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA digital accessibility standards for web, mobile, and academic content. This includes all employee websites using an umsl.edu URL. Employee websites must transition to the university template in Cascade, an approved WordPress platform or to an external host. The UMSL Web Team will contact employees with existing sites to discuss the site transition. For questions, please contact
