While we build out a web page that will be announced later, check IT Insight for new GenAI information each month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Did you know that <a href=\"https:\/\/teaching.missouri.edu\/resources\/artificial-intelligence-ai\">Missouri Online&#8217;s Artificial Intelligence site<\/a>&nbsp;is a great resource with information and training opportunities?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What can you use GenAI tools for? GenAI tools can be used for any needs incorporating public or generic data (DCL1, under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umsystem.edu\/ums\/is\/infosec\/classification-definitions\">university\u2019s Data Classification System<\/a>). Examples include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Writing software code that uses common routines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research on nonsensitive topics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Queries (without confidential information) to better understand our customers, partners, vendors, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Writing generic documentation such as job descriptions, strategic plans or other administrative documents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are interested in using a GenAI tool, please fill out our <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.umsl.edu\/webapps\/ITS\/bpm12004\/index.cfm\">Technology Acquisition Request (aka BPM12004)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can read more about things to avoid when using GenAI tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What should you avoid when using GAI tools?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do not enter personal, health, student or financial information in AI tools (DCL 2, 3, and 4 under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umsystem.edu\/ums\/is\/infosec\/classification-definitions\">university\u2019s Data Classification System<\/a>). The technology and vendors may not protect the data or the privacy rights of individuals. Data entered into these tools may be shared with unauthorized third parties.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not reuse your password associated with your university account to sign up for AI accounts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not share sensitive research information, intellectual property or trade secrets with AI tools.
