Free Networking 101 Event November 4th

Even if you’re not, networking is crucial to establishing long-lasting relationships that can lead to new opportunities.  I’m sure you have heard the saying, “It’s not always about what you know, but it’s about who you know”. Eighty nine percent of marketers reported that the use of social media has helped create exposure to their business, and has increased traffic to their websites by seven five percent.  A majority of them have also said that it has helped increase sales.

The University of Missouri St. Louis Marketing Club is hosting a networking 101 event on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.  The event will be located on UMSL north campus in 215 SSB..  The speaker for the event will be Vernon Ross, the CEO of Ross Public Relations and a top podcaster.  He will inform you of how to effectively use social media to gain attention from people in your target industries. Using social media and networking can help with identifying new business trends that can give your company an edge over your competitors. One of his most notable podcasts is “5 Top Strategies Job Seekers Should Use on LinkedIn”, which provides easy tips to listeners on how to improve their profiles and engage in conversation with companies via LinkedIn. The event will include networking before and after the presentation, as well as a question and answer section where you can ask Vernon Ross your specific questions.
