What’s next for the professional sports scene in St. Louis? Do you DREAM of watching a Major League Soccer match while enjoying toasted ravioli and SugarFire BBQ? Come talk with fellow fans at TEDxGatewayArch: DREAM!
This Thursday, February 18th, 2016 TEDxGatewayArch is hosting the DREAM event of the season. It’s no secret that St. Louis has long been a soccer town. Soccer parks, bars, and leagues are found in abundance despite a lack of Major League Soccer presence. That’s all about to change! With the MLS officially scouting locations for a new soccer arena, the next era of STL professional sports has begun! TEDx DREAM will bring you into the world of soccer and its potential clash, benefit, and future with the metro area.
DREAM will be the only site in Missouri where you can experience TED Talks internationally simulcast from Vancouver featuring speakers such as Lidia Yuknavich, Arthur Brooks, John Legend, Judit Polgar, Uri Hasson, and more. The simulcast will be followed by a live interactive panel of local and international soccer industry peeps! Meet Olympic Gold Medalist, Lori Chalupny and soccer MVP turned ESPN anchor Taylor Twellman, face-to-face! The amazing lineup of panelists also includes, Al Trost, David Lange, Tim Hayden, and local soccer legend Bill McDermott!
It’s not a party unless TED’s involved. Not only do you get an amazing lineup of speakers and panelists, but included with your ticket is dinner and an open bar. Pi Pizza, SugarFire Smoke House, Thai Bistro, Sameem’s (Vegan and Halal), and other local establishments will satisfy any taste-bud! Local soccer clubs and businesses will also be on site to exhibit the best of St. Louis soccer in the “Technology Entertainment and Design of soccer” hall!
TED is an internationally renowned innovation site that brings generation defying topics to talk about. The Gateway Arch chapter has been devoted to the positive economic and social benefit of the entire metro area. With the student price less than a meal at Chipotle, there’s no reason to not join the future of St. Louis sports!
