Q: What are some of the worst mistakes a business could make when it comes to content marketing?
A: Having technical experts write all the content.
Q: What do you think is next for content marketing? How will it evolve in the coming years?
A: Marketing automation is really starting to become mainstream and I think we are going to see a shift in content to more VALUE content and less sales content.
Q: Social media marketing is free, right?
A: Nope, you have to spend time or money. Avoid or disregard it at your own peril.
Q: A small business owner has to wear many hats and time is always tight. What are some social media time management tips you have to help them stick with their social media campaign without losing a lot of time?
A: Set aside 30 minutes each week to respond to comments, update postings, and share information. Consistency matters more than quality.  You’ll get better over time.
Q: Share your favorite digital marketing case study. What did you like most it?
A: Hatchbuck did a case study on Ideal Client Personas and it’s a presentation I refer back to constantly.
Q: According to you, what are the top three mistakes committed by organizations today in leveraging digital marketing?
A: They avoid it. They assign a college intern to manage it.  They think it doesn’t apply to them or their industry.
Q: Which are your three favorite digital marketing tools?
A: Hatchbuck, Hootsuite and Dashthis.
Q: What are the top 3-5 skills you look for when hiring a candidate for digital marketing profile?
A: Experience, tenure with organizations, uniqueness of application and personality in Linkedin and application.
Q: Who are three people you respect when it comes to digital marketing?
A: Jonathan Herrick, Tim Ferris and Mike Weinberg.
Brandon will be speaking at MDMC17 about “How Not to Be Obsolete in Digital” from 3:00-3:40 on April 13th.  We are very excited to have you attend!
