314 Digital's 4th Annual Digital Marketing Showcase

screen-shot-2016-11-22-at-12-07-32-pm314 Digital will be hosting the 4th Annual Digital Marketing Showcase on December 7th at the Palladium in St. Louis.  If you aren’t familiar with the Showcase event, you’ve been missing a great opportunity to see some of the most innovative digital marketing creative and executions being launched from right here in St. Louis.  Think art gallery opening meets digital marketing.  While so much emphasis in digital marketing is put on data and analytics, this is a unique and fun way to celebrate the amazing creative and how it all comes together for brands into campaigns.
But it’s not all business.  Once you’ve had a chance to visit with the 12+ agencies that will be displaying their work, there will be a DJ, open bar, and heavy appetizers to continue the celebration (until 9pm that is).  The best part of the evening is that thanks to our gracious and generous sponsors, Oracle, Adobe, Teads, YuMe, AdTheorent, and Amobee, the entire evening is FREE to attend.  You can register at eventbright or at 314Digital.com and make sure to share and bring some friends.
Each year we’ve seen exciting new work and been introduced to some of the leading designers and digital creative minds.  What will this year hold in store?  What ideas will become the next reality, or virtual reality?  We hope to see many new faces amongst the 300 plus digital and marketing professionals.

Live from Venture Cafe!

Want to get an inside look at one of the many networking events in St. Louis? Check out this video blog of a Venture Café Event.
[wpvideo K38CQWed]
The event that we chose to film and write about was the Venture Café that took place on Thursday, October 15, 2015. The reason why we chose this event to talk about is because we thought that it would be helpful for anyone who would like to attend this event, but is skeptical because they really don’t know what it is about. We wanted this video to really broadcast some of the key aspects that this event would want its participants to take with them.
Venture Café program manager, Kaori Yazawa, explains exactly what a Venture Café event is all about. From her point of view, she believes that this event joins community members of all ages and races together so that they can all network and support each other.
Venture café events occur every Thursday and they cover a range of topics. Some topics that they have covered and will cover in the future are developing a strong marketing strategy and how to properly give a presentation. One of the main goals that this event aims to accomplish is to bring together a very diverse group of people that will utilize the workshops held every week in order to grow their skills and become more confident in their abilities.
Venture Café events are very professional and helpful. We would encourage anyone that is pursuing a business degree (especially a marketing degree) to attend these events. They are very insightful. Each event is held at the Cortex Innovation Building and presenters talk about a variety of topics each week.

How Beyond Networking Helps
Losing your job can be like losing your identity. Leading up to and during the Great Recession, the St. Louis business community experienced major simultaneous layoffs. Many of those who were laid off had not thought about their resume or dressing for an interview in years, if not decades.
networking-imageBeyond Networking (formerly GO!) was created out a need for the development of the soft and the hard skills new job seekers need to land their next role. Beyond Networking assists with everything from best practices for resumes, completing online applications and answering interview questions to providing emotional support and financial information.
Weekly Meetings
Every Tuesday, Beyond Networking meets from 9:00 – 11:45 am while a guest speaker discusses various aspects of the career transition process. Participants enjoy coffee, learn a new professional best practice and network with other attendees – for free. All are welcome, including students.
