UMSL’s Financial Counseling center gets more funding

The University of Missouri-St. Louis and the Center for Excellence in Financial Counseling, which opened in August on UMSL’s South Campus, have received nearly $1 million in additional funding from the Foundation for Credit Education, a nonprofit organization which has now dissolved into the center.

UMSL established a partnership with the FCE, and the collaboration resulted in the new center. A preliminary tally of the assets from the foundation totaled $3.25 million. The final gift totals $4.17 million.

“This generous gift will provide tremendous support for our mission as we further enhance and improve the research on and delivery of financial and consumer counseling,” said Vicki Jacobson, director of the center. She previously served as president of the FCE.
