University of Missouri–St. Louis Chancellor Tom George kept busy with a presentation, performance and lecture on a recent visit to his alma mater, Gettysburg (Penn.) College. The college’s publication News@Gettysburg chronicled the campus cameo by George, a 1967 graduate and former chemistry and math double major.

An accomplished jazz pianist, he provided accompaniment for a musical presentation given by his wife, UMSL Curators’ Professor of Music Barbara Harbach, at one of the events celebrating the Sunderman Conservatory of Music’s 10th anniversary. George, a professor of chemistry and physics at UMSL, also gave a lecture on his research to a physical chemistry class. He completed his campus visit with a presentation on lessons learned and community response to the events last year in Ferguson, Mo.
