More than 130 international students from 28 countries gathered in the Millennium Student Center Century Rooms at the University of Missouri–St. Louis for UMSL Global‘s International Student Orientation, which began Monday. The students toured campus and took part in a series of informational sessions covering topics related to navigating the academic environment, including attendance, classroom expectations, Canvas, testing and student IDs; American life, including public transportation, shopping and public safety; and how to maintain their immigration status, including minimum credit hours, reporting and Form I-20s. The 86 undergraduate students and 47 graduate students hailed from such countries as the Bahamas and Zimbabwe and many places in between spread across five continents.
