Nearly 400 students, faculty, staff and alumni turn out for spirited UMSL Night at the St. Louis Blues

The final result wasn’t what those in attendance wanted with the home team falling 4-3 against the Central Division-leading Colorado Avalanche. But that didn’t do too much to dampen the experience of 400 University of Missouri–St. Louis students, faculty, staff and alumni who showed up for a fun UMSL Night at the St. Louis Blues, hosted by the UMSL Alumni Association last Tuesday at the Enterprise Center.

UMSL photographer Derik Holtmann was on hand to capture some of the festivities as members of the UMSL community added a splash of red into the arena stands in downtown St. Louis.

The UMSL contingent filled seats all the way to the top of the Enterprise Center’s upper level and were eagerly awaiting the drop of the puck.

The crowd stood as the lights dimmed during the playing of the national anthem before Tuesday’s game.

Fans showed off their UMSL red stocking caps.

The Enterprise Center crowd erupted after left winger Nathan Walker’s goal tied the game at 1.

Students and recent graduates enjoyed what was a back-and-forth game through two periods. The Blues even took leads of 2-1 and 3-2 in the second period before the Avalanche pulled even with just over a minute remaining in the second.

Senior communication major Fahad Albazi waves to the crowd during his Zamboni ride between the second and third periods.
