Eye on UMSL: Swag prep

The annual Information Systems and Technology Alumni Social is planned, budgeted, marketed and organized from conception through execution by students in Damon Walker's class.

IST Social

Students in Assistant Teaching Professor Damon Walker‘s project management class organize a variety of University of Missouri–St. Louis branded hats, pins, cups, bottles and other swag that they will distribute to guests attending their upcoming Information Systems and Technology alumni event. The class, which is a required course in the IST degree path, teaches students how to plan, budget, market and organize an event from conception through execution.

The IST Alumni Social will be held Nov. 12 at the newly remodeled UMSL Innovation Center. The annual event provides an excellent opportunity for Information Systems and Technology students and alumni to connect, exchange ideas and strengthen the IST community. Students are encouraged to use the event to gain insight and inspiration for their future careers – perhaps even finding a mentor – while alumni can take pride in supporting and engaging with the next generation of professionals.

The evening will feature a panel discussion, food and music, creating an inviting atmosphere for networking and meaningful conversation. Students and alumni can register for the event here.
