Women’s Basketball
The University of Missouri–St. Louis stretched its winning streak to seven games with home victories over Missouri S&T and Lincoln last week. The Tritons beat the Miners 67-55 on Thursday and blitzed the Blue Tigers 92-45 on Saturday to improve to 10-0 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. Senior guard Morgan Ramthun and junior forward Mara Rieder each averaged 19.5 points in the two wins while freshman guard Jayden Kuper contributed an average of 19.0 points per game. Kuper led four UMSL players in double figures with 16 points in Thursday’s win over Missouri S&T. Ramthun had 13 points, and freshman guard Jaeda Wilson chipped in career-high 14 off the bench on a night when Rieder, the GLVC’s leading scorer, shot just 5 for 18 from the field and finished with 12 points. The Tritons held the Miners to five points in the second quarter to open up a 26-17 lead at halftime. Missouri S&T never got closer than four points after intermission. UMSL was even more dominant on Saturday against Lincoln, jumping out to 24-9 lead after the opening quarter and stretching the advantage to 47-21 at halftime. The Blue Tigers shot just 28% from the field. Ramthun scored a career-high 26 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Rieder had 27 points, and Kuper added 22 and 12 rebounds. The Tritons’ 92 points were their highest output in a game since a 97-77 win over Illinois Springfield nearly three years ago. UMSL (14-2, 10-0 GLVC), leading the Great Lakes Valley Conference, will take on crosstown rival and second-place Maryville on Saturday at the Mark Twain Athletic Center in its only game of the week.

Men’s Basketball
The Tritons went 1-1 last week, falling to Missouri S&T 84-81 on Thursday but beating Lincoln 78-64 on Saturday at the Mark Twain Athletic Center. UMSL led for the first 33 minutes of Thursday’s loss, including a 40-27 advantage at halftime. But the Miners used runs of 14-4 and 17-7 in the second half to erase that deficit, and they also had a late 11-0 run to take a 77-67 lead with 1:23 remaining. The Tritons couldn’t rally. Vincent Davis III led four UMSL players in double figures with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Miles Boland added 17, Jake Hamilton had 13 and Taye Moore finished with 11. But Andrew Young and Blaise Beauchamp combined for 47 points for Missouri S&T. UMSL committed 15 turnovers in the loss and watched the Miners go 22 for 28 from the foul line. The Tritons did a much better job closing after building another double-digit halftime lead on Saturday against the Blue Tigers. They shot 55.6% from the field, including 8 for 11 from 3-point range, in the first half while opening up a 46-34 lead at intermission, and Lincoln never got closer than nine points after the break. UMSL’s shooting went cold in the second half but it continued to look down the Blue Tigers, holding them to 41.4% shooting in the game while forcing 14 turnovers. Moore led four players in double figures with 18 points. Hamilton had 12, Davis had 11 and Demetris Phillips scored 10 off the bench. The Tritons (11-8, 5-5 GLVC) will wrap up a three-game homestand against crosstown rival Maryville on Saturday in their only game of the week.

Men’s and Women’s Swimming
UMSL’s swimming teams were back in the pool for the first time in 2026 as they took on Washington University in St. Louis and Henderson State in a pair of dual meets over the weekend. The women’s team earned a split, falling to the Bearcats 160-73 on Friday but beating the Reddies 199-59 on Saturday. Justice Beard won five individual events across the two meets while also contributing to a pair of relay wins by the Tritons. She won the 200- and 500-yard freestyle races on Friday while also swimming the anchor leg for UMSL’s victorious 200-yard freestyle relay team against WashU. Those were the Tritons’ only first-place finishes on Friday, but they swept every event against Henderson State. Beard won the 1,000- and 500-yard freestyle races and took first in the 200-yard butterfly while also joining the winning 200 freestyle relay. Teammate Audrey Lantz, also a member of that winning relay, won three individual events of her own with top finishes in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly. Sister Ella Lantz won the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events and swam the leadoff leg for the winning 200-yard medley relay. Uxue Oritz de Pinedo won both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke races. Libby Smith won the 200 freestyle, and Romina Itzkovich took first in the 200-yard individual medley. The men’s team, meanwhile, fell to Washington University 124-72 on Friday and lost to No. 25 Henderson State 150-112 on Saturday. UMSL won the 200-yard freestyle relay against the Bears as the team of Lathan Parks, Kaleb Suitor, Gabriel Wells and Joan Cortadellas Llubera posted a time of 1 minute, 25.21 seconds. Against Henderson State, Aaron Wicklund won the 200-yard breaststroke and finished second in the 100. Suitor was first in the 100 backstroke and the 100 butterfly, and Parks out touched Oliver Pozval by 0.02 seconds to win the 50 free in 21.76 seconds. UMSL will host Saint Louis University in its final home dual meet of the season on Friday. The Tritons also race against McKendree and Lewis on Saturday at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex in O’Fallon, Illinois.
