Tradition and innovation: Scenes from Homecoming 2026

Members of the UMSL community chowed down at the Chili feed, showcased their talents and walked the runway during the annual celebration.

UMSL students at Pack the Stands

Students, faculty, staff and alumni of the University of Missouri–St. Louis gathered from Feb. 9 to Feb. 21 to engage in the university’s annual homecoming celebration. The schedule of events provided plenty of opportunities for members of the UMSL community to socialize and show their Triton pride at longtime traditions such as the Chili Feed and newer additions like Tritons Got Talent, a campus-wide talent show.

Participants were all in on this year’s theme, “The Louie of Hearts,” taking part in classic homecoming activities like Pack the Stands. However, the homecoming staff had an ace up its sleeve toward the end of last week’s festivities – the Student and Alumni Fashion Show. The new event featured students and alumni strutting their stuff and showcasing their creativity.

Photographer Derik Holtmann and Social Media Manager Valerie Furlong were on hand to capture the action as the attendees filled their plates at the Chili Feed, packed the stands to support the men’s and women’s basketball teams, showcased their talents and walked the runway. Take a look at some of the highlights here and view more photos on UMSL’s Flickr page.
