UMSL Faculty at the International Communication Association Conference

Several UMSL faculty members, including Alice Hall and Lara Zwarun (pictured below), are just returning from presenting their work at the 2012 conference of the International Communication Association (ICA).  The conference is an opportunity to share research findings with others in the field, find out what other scholars are doing, and catch up with old colleagues, including former graduate students who have gone on to Ph.D. programs and academic careers of their own.

Research by UMSL faculty that was presented at the conference included the following:

  • “Asian American Family Communication Style: From the Perspective of Asian American Children,” by UMSL Assistant Professor Su Ahn Jang and Ahnlee Jang
  • “Descriptive Norms, Social Acceptiblity, Self-Monitoring, and Unhealthy Food Consumption Among University Students,” by UMSL Assistant Professor Su Ahn Jang and UMSL Associate Professor Jina Yoo.
  • “Distraction, Narrative Transportation and Need for Comprehension: Narrative Persuasion in a Multitasking World,” by UMSL Associate Professors Lara Zwarun and Alice Hall
