Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Opera Theatre at the University of Missouri-St. Louis will perform “L’Amour,” two nights of opera’s most celebrated love stories. The concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 4 and 5 at the E. Desmond and Mary Ann Lee Theater in the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center at UMSL. “L’Amour” is free and open to the public.

Each evening of amorous song will take on themes of hearts full of hope, ache and longing entanglement. UMSL Opera Theatre will capture passionate moments from “Così fan tutte,” “Carmen,” “La traviata,” “Manon,” “The Tales of Hoffman,” “The Elixir of Love” and “The Pearl Fishers.” Stella Markou, director of vocal studies at UMSL, conducts the student performance group.

The Touhill is on UMSL’s North Campus, One University Blvd. in St. Louis, Mo. 63121. The concert is sponsored by the Department of Music at UMSL. Visit http://touhill.org or call 314-516-4949 for more information.
