Nicholas Foster, a senior media studies major at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, was recently named to the American Advertising Federation’s annual list of Most Promising Minority Students. This year, the AAF selected more than 50 advertising, marketing, media and communications students from across the United States. Foster was the only student selected from a university in Missouri.

Recipients of the distinction are invited to attend network and interview sessions with top advertising agencies, media companies and advertisers Feb. 2 through 4 in New York.

“I feel truly fortunate to have this honor bestowed upon me; it’s like a breath of fresh air,” said Foster, of Spanish Lake, Mo. “The opportunities that come with this recognition will greatly benefit me as I prepare to enter the job market.”

While in New York, he will attend professional seminars hosted by prestigious companies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, J.C Penney Co. and General Mills, as well as mingle with representatives from worldwide agencies. The trip will be capped off with the honorees taking in a performance of a Broadway play.
