Great Streets Meeting

North St. Louis County residents fill a meeting room at UMSL on Friday to hear news of a planned redesign of Natural Bridge Road between Lucas and Hunt Road and Interstate 170.

More than 70 residents of north St. Louis County attended an open meeting Friday at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. They learned the possibilities for a redesigned Natural Bridge Road between Interstate 170 and Lucas and Hunt Road.

Paul Wojciechowski, project manager for the St. Louis Great Streets Initiative, led the meeting.

“Our main goal is to talk to you one-on-one, to hear from you what you think, get your input,” he said.

The Natural Bridge Road project is a collaboration of the East–West Gateway Council of Governments and the Missouri Department of Transportation. The meeting included an array of display boards with information on how the project came about, different street configurations and the people and areas involved.

Wojciechowski cautioned that the project was in its early stages and no funds had been appropriated for construction.
