With more than 58,000 alumni of the University of Missouri–St. Louis living and working in the St. Louis region, you’re bound to meet someone you know at UMSL’s 2011 alumni weekend. The weekend begins April 14 with free hot dogs for lunch on North Campus and ends with a golf outing at Normandie Golf Club April 17.

UMSL’s current students will be the big winners from the proceeds of “Light Up the Lakes Gala and Auction” on April 15 at the lakes at the Millennium Student Center. Money raised goes to student scholarships.

And for the first time this year, alumni weekend will include the annual “Keep Kids Safe 5K Walk/Run” to benefit the Children’s Advocacy Services of Greater St. Louis. The center serves children impacted by all types of traumatic events including childhood sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect. They also have therapies for children with sexual behavior issues and who are difficult to manage at home and school.

There will be campus tours, symposiums and an open house for chemistry alumni. Chancellor Tom George will host a brunch for out-of-town alumni. All events take place on the UMSL campus, 1 University Blvd. St. Louis, Mo. 63121. To register online visit: www.umslalumni.org/AW2011 or call 314-516-5833.
