Violinist Janet Sung will perform live Sept. 29 at the Touhill.

Violinist Janet Sung enjoys an acclaimed international career as a virtuoso soloist, praised for her lustrous tone and impassioned, bravura performances. Welcomed by the Arianna String Quartet, the resident quartet at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, Sung will perform live at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 29 in the E. Desmond and Mary Ann Lee Theater in the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center. Admission to the concert is free.

“Sung is an intelligent musician with an attractive tonal palette including both lustrous and husky timbre on the lower strings,” the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review wrote. “She was persuasive in Debussy’s only Sonata for Violin and Piano, phrasing the music with notable clarity and purpose.”

The Touhill is on UMSL’s North Campus, 1 University Blvd. in St. Louis County (63121).
