Alumna Pattie Tierney, BGS 1977, is an artist, photographer, researcher and retired sales trainer. But it’s her passion for sharing recipes that drew the interest of St. Louis Post-Dispatch food critic Joe Bonwich. He recently wrote about Tierney in his article “When it comes to recipes, she delivers.”
According to the article, Tierney’s fascination with growing and collecting food dates back to her days as student at the University of Missouri–St. Louis where she organized a “wild foods banquet.”
“I collected acorns and roasted them to flour to make acorn bread,” she told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
