Vocal Point is one of several UMSL ensembles that performs at the annual Classic Holiday Concert. This year's concert is Dec. 12 at the Touhill.

This year’s Classic Holiday Concert at the University of Missouri–St. Louis will end with a real “flourish.”

This annual concert is a mixed presentation by UMSL’s choirs and orchestra, pulling from an extensive catalog of classic holiday music including many traditional favorites. To conclude the concert, the orchestra and both choruses will join to perform the grand finale, “Christmas Flourish” by Randol Bass.

The Department of Music will present the Holiday Concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 12 in the Anheuser-Busch Performance Hall at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center. It is free and open to the public.

One of the most popular concerts of the holiday season, it will feature:

  • The University Singers and acclaimed a cappella group Vocal Point, under the direction of Jim Henry, director of choral studies at UMSL.
  • The University Orchestra, under the direction of Dan Presgrave, orchestra conductor.
  • The University Community Chorus, directed by John Smith, chorus director.

The Touhill Performing Arts Center is located on UMSL’s North Campus at 1 University Blvd. in St. Louis County (63121). Call 314-516-5980 for more information.
