With only a fraction of a second left in the game, senior Troy Long netted a short baseline jumper to give the University of Missouri–St. Louis men’s basketball team a win last week during fan-favorite “Pack the Stands” night. The victory also guaranteed at least a share of the Great Lakes Valley Conference West Division title. The team has a chance to win the division outright with its regular season finale against cross-town rival Maryville University (Town and Country, Mo.) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 23) at UMSL.

The UMSL women’s basketball team will take on Maryville University at 5:30 p.m. before the men’s game.

In between the two contests Thursday, UMSL will honor its graduating players from both teams. But the season won’t end for either team.

The women’s team is fresh off a win Saturday against the University of Illinois Springfield in which the UMSL Tritons clinched a bid to the GLVC Tournament. The men’s team clinched a GLVC Tournament berth earlier in the season.
