Senior guard Caitlyn Moody of the University of Missouri–St. Louis women’s basketball team has been named to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Second Team, while junior forward Devonna Smith has been selected to the league’s All-Defensive Team.

Moody led the team in scoring, averaging 13.0 points per game. She also averaged a team-best 1.2 steals per game to go with 4.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest. Moody was also the top free throw shooter, connecting at 86.3 percent (88-of-102) from the free throw line, the second best single-season mark in program history.

She graduates as the program’s all-time free throw percentage leader (84.3) and leaves ranked third in three-pointers attempted (560), third in blocked shots (56), fourth in three-pointers made (163), fourth in field goals attempted (1,225), fifth in scoring (1,263) and seventh in free throws made (236).

In GLVC-only contests, Moody ranked 17th in scoring (12.4 ppg) and was sixth in free throw percentage (.853).

Smith averaged 11.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, while also recording 22 blocked shots and posting eight double-doubles. Her 226 rebounds this season was the eighth-best single season total.

In GLVC-only games, Smith averaged 11.4 points and a league fourth-best 8.3 rebounds per game.

UMSL finished the season with a 10-17 record, including a 5-13 GLVC mark. The UMSL Tritons ended their season with a 75-61 loss at Maryville University (Town and Country, Mo.) in the 2012 SCHEELS GLVC Tournament First Round.
