Each week, the Department of Athletics at the University of Missouri–St. Louis compiles a roundup of how the various UMSL Tritons teams have fared. Click on the headings below for an up-to-date look at each Tritons team.

SOFTBALL
The UMSL softball team posted a 3-3 record last week, including a sweep of Upper Iowa University (Fayette) in non-conference play. The Tritons also split with Lewis University (Romeoville, Ill.) and lost both games of a doubleheader at Saint Joseph’s College (Rensselaer, Ind.) in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. Junior Leslie Davis led UMSL with seven hits, three of which were home runs, and went 2-1 in the circle, recording 13 strikeouts. UMSL is now 10-10 overall and 2-4 in the GLVC.

BASEBALL
The UMSL baseball team posted a 4-2 record during its trip to Florida, including sweeps of Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania and Alderson-Broaddus College (Philippi, W.Va.). The Tritons improved to 6-4 on the season.

WOMEN’S TENNIS
The UMSL women’s tennis team hosted Ferris State University (Big Rapids, Mich.) in its spring home opener, but was unable to complete the match due to darkness. The Tritons, who trailed 4-2, before the match was called, won at No. 1 doubles with an 8-5 victory from sophomore Louisa Werner and senior Pujitha Bandi. Freshman Leanne Cantalupo picked up a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles.

MEN’S TENNIS
The UMSL men’s tennis team lost a 5-1 decision to Ferris State University last week in the spring season home opener. The Tritons picked up a 9-8 (7) win at No. 2 doubles from freshman Harry Heyburn and Marius Schumacher. Three singles matches were not finished due to darkness.
