Mega Dinner with 12 Strangers will start at 5 p.m. April 28 in the Century Rooms of the Millennium Student Center.

Gain some insight and advice from people who do what you want to do when you graduate. The University of Missouri–St. Louis Alumni Association will hold its Mega Dinner with 12 Strangers at 5 p.m. April 28 in the Century Rooms of the Millennium Student Center.

Dinner guests will gather at tables of 12, usually six students and six alumni. Students have an opportunity to gain some insight into the “real world” and life after graduation. UMSL alumni bring an abundance of life experience and advice to the table.

The event is free for UMSL students.  Sponsorship for a table of 12 is $300.  If you would like to attend and sponsor a student, the cost is $60. Individual seating is $30.

Past participant Claire Regnier, a senior criminology and criminal justice major, said the dinner is an amazing experience.

“You learn that people who seem so out of reach are really just an email away,” Regnier said. “I personally got to sit at dinner with the chief of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. That is a huge deal for a criminal justice major like me. I got to ask him anything, and he was more than willing to answer all of my questions.”

A highlight of the evening will include a silent and live auction. Proceeds will benefit UMSL student scholarships. Auction items will range from a $1,000 student scholarship to a flat-screen TV and hotel package.

The deadline to register for the Mega Dinner with 12 Strangers is April 23.  Please contact Celeste Marx, alumni relations manager at 314-516-4738 or marxce@umsl.edu for additional information.
