Saint Louis Ballet's annual December performance of "The Nutcracker" has become a magical holiday tradition at the Touhill. It'll be staged Dec. 14-23.

The holidays simply aren’t complete without the Saint Louis Ballet’s performance of “The Nutcracker” at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. The music and dance has become a traditional holiday favorite for the St. Louis area.

“The Nutcracker” will be staged at 7 p.m. Dec. 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 in the Anheuser-Busch Performance Hall at the Touhill. Matinee performances are at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 15, 16, 20, 21, 22 and 23. Tickets are $27-$49. Special ticket prices are available for children 12 and under.

The Saint Louis Ballet encourages the attendance of children to this particular show, as “The Nutcracker” is a magical introduction to the world of ballet and incorporates children dancers.

The ballet is under the direction of Saint Louis Ballet Artistic Director Gen Horiuchi. Horiuchi is an internationally renowned choreographer and dancer. He was principal dancer for the New York City Ballet in 1989 and went on to play the well-known Mr. Mistoffelees in CATS on both Broadway and the West End, London’s Broadway equivalent. Horiuchi has worked with the Saint Louis Ballet since 2000.
