UMSL Tritons

The University of Missouri–St. Louis had four teams receive the Great Lakes Valley Conference Team Academic Award, including women’s golf, softball, women’s soccer and women’s tennis.

The GLVC recognizes each team from member institutions that have maintained a 3.30 grade point average for the academic year. There were a league-record 109 teams that earned the honor for the 2013-14 academic year, bettering the previous mark of 100 set a year ago.

The Tritons women’s golfers posted a team grade point average of 3.61, to lead all of UMSL’s 11 programs. The softball squad achieved a 3.41, while women’s soccer recorded a 3.40. Women’s tennis posted a 3.35.

There were a total of 88 women’s teams and 21 men’s squads tabbed for the honor. On the women’s side, soccer led the way with 13 of the league’s 16 teams earning the accolade, while on the men’s side, the sport of tennis led the honorees for the fourth-straight season with eight of the 13 conference squads garnering the award.
