UMSL Tritons weekly rewind

The Tritons volleyball team won three out of four matches, including an upset of No. 23 Augustana, at the season-opening Eckerd College Invitational in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Junior Selena Nolte averaged 3.5 kills and 1.5 digs per set as the UMSL volleyball team got its 2018 season off to a 3-1 start at the Eckerd Invitational in on Friday and Saturday in St. Petersburg, Florida.

UMSL opened the 2018 season by going 3-1 at the Eckerd College Invitational on Friday and Saturday in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Tritons swept Charleston and Seton Hill on Friday before completing a 3-2 upset over No. 23 Augustana (South Dakota) on Saturday. The lone loss was a 3-1 setback to the host school, Eckerd. Junior Selena Nolte averaged 3.5 kills and 1.5 digs per set, while junior Kylie Rudsinski added 3.13 kills per set as UMSL posted a .301 hitting percentage. Freshman Megan Woll averaged 5.4 digs per set. The Tritons travel to Findlay, Ohio, for four matches this weekend.

Men’s and women’s soccer both kick off their 2018 seasons this week, with the men hosting Davenport at noon Saturday and the women playing at Ferris State in Big Rapids, Michigan, at 3 p.m. Friday.

Women’s tennis begins its fall season Saturday at the DePauw Tournament in Greencastle, Indiana.
