Head coach Dan King has announced his retirement after 22 seasons on the UMSL sideline. King was the second-longest tenured coach in program history and compiled a record of 167-178-1. He twice won 12 games in a season – 2012 when the team finished 12-7-1 and advanced to the GLVC Tournament final and again in 2014 when it went 12-4-2. King coached 31 players who earned All-GLVC honors and eight who received all-region accolades. Jon Huelsman was named an All-American in 2014. “I’ve been fortunate to work with some outstanding assistant coaches and players, and I want to thank them for their commitment to this great program that Don Dallas built,” King said. “I am also grateful to the Department of Athletics and the University for supporting the men’s soccer program during my tenure. UMSL is a special place, and I am thankful for the experiences and relationships gained. I will miss the Friday night games under the lights at Don Dallas Field the most!”
