Members of Vocal Point, an a cappella ensemble at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, perform during “Blue,” a choral concert on May 5 that featured music ranging from Bach to gospel to popular music. Under the direction of Director Jim Henry, Vocal Point performed several songs including “It’s a Blue World,” “Blue Rondo a la Turk,” and “Mr. Blue Sky.” The concert also featured performances by University Singers, an auditioned concert choir open to UMSL students of all majors, and Voices of Jubilation, a community gospel choir.
On Wed., May 13 at 7:30 p.m., the UMSL Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra will join forces for a performance at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center. The Symphony Orchestra presents the first half, showcasing YAC concerto winners Arissa Ford and Hayden Baker, followed by a second half full of popular film scores.
