
To kick off the first part of the semester, UMSL freshmen pose on the soccer field in the shape of the university’s letters on Aug. 22.
The University of Missouri–St. Louis community enjoyed an eventful start to the fall semester this past month. Students, faculty and staff connected across campus, taking in art exhibitions, singing a cappella music, volunteering their time and showing off their UMSL pride.

The Pierre Laclede Honors College Student Association held Paint-a-Palooza, the group’s annual welcome event, on Sept. 5. The popular event is a dry paint fight held on the front lawn of Provincial House.

UMSL students, faculty and staff joined the Pierre Laclede Honors College and Department of Biology to participate in the “Honeysuckle Hack at the Sanctuary” on Sept. 12. The group worked to remove invasive honeysuckle growing in the Bellerive Bird Sanctuary on the edge of North Campus.
