University of Missouri–St. Louis Adjunct Professor and former Marine Sgt. Michael Feger cuts a cake with a ceremonial saber to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday.

The event was part of Student Veterans Week, which the university observed from April 13 to 16. The UMSL Veterans Center hosted the weeklong celebration dedicated to honoring and recognizing UMSL’s military-connected students. Throughout the week, the campus community came together to participate in a variety of activities designed to show appreciation for the service and sacrifice of student veterans, active-duty service members and military families. The events created opportunities for connection, reflection and support while highlighting the unique experiences and contributions of military-connected students at UMSL.
