Eye on UMSL: Chili competition

UMSL students Bekah Cripe (left), a junior education major and Pierre Laclede Honors College student, and Sara Gerberding, a senior biology major and honors college student, are about to taste the white chicken chili sponsored by the College of Business Administration. Sodexo vendor Charles Ewing (second from right) dishes out the chili with the assistance of Michael Costello, assistant teaching professor of finance and legal studies.

The Chili Feed event was held in the century rooms at the Millennium Student Center with all the colleges contributing a chili recipe. The Zesty Confetti Chili, a collaborative effort by the College of Nursing and College of Optometry, was voted winner of the Golden Ladle Award for best chili. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Pagedale Family Support Center.

The photograph was taken by UMSL photographer August Jennewein and is the latest to be featured in Eye on UMSL.
