Halterman named GCAA Midwest Region Coach of the Year

The six-year head coach directed his team to a 12th place finish at the 2015 NCAA Championships.

University of Missouri–St. Louis head men’s golf coach Troy Halterman has been named the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) NCAA Division II Midwest Region Coach of the Year, presented by Golf Pride Grips.

Halterman, who completed his sixth year as the UMSL Tritons’ head coach, directed his team to a 12th place finish at the 2015 NCAA Championships. It was UMSL’s third appearance in the last five years at the NCAA Championships.

Halterman, the 2015 GLVC Coach of the Year accolades, also guided the program to its first-ever GLVC Championship this spring.

UMSL recorded eight top-five finishes this season behind a 298.25 scoring average, which ranks second on the program’s single season charts.

This is the third GCAA Midwest Region Coach of the Year honor for Halterman, having also been awarded during the 2010-11 and 2012-13 seasons.
