UMSL compiled a combined score of 896 in the 54-hole tournament to finish in a tie with Findlay in the 20-team field. Central Missouri won the regional title after finishing with a score of 884 and beating Grand Valley State in a tiebreaker. Arkansas Tech and Indianapolis also advanced to the NCAA Championship. Softball
The fifth-seeded Tritons ended their season with a 1-0 loss to fourth-seeded Lindenwood Saturday morning in the quarterfinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament. The tournament was moved to a single-elimination format after rain washed out the first two days of play. The Lions plated the game’s lone run with an RBI double in the second inning off UMSL pitcher Megan Brown. The Tritons only managed three hits in the game, including a double from freshman Courtney Settles, and Brown added two walks. UMSL finished the season with a 28-22 record.
