The Sista Strut Breast Cancer Walk will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 2 at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park in St. Louis. Registration begins at 8 a.m. This rally and 5K walk will heighten awareness about the issues of breast cancer in the African-American community, as well as provide information on resources available to the community. Sista Strut will feature celebrities, performances and motivation.

Event sponsors KMJM (104.9 FM) and KATZ (1600 AM) are recognizing October as breast cancer awareness month with the creation of Sista Strut. Proceeds will benefit The Breakfast Club, Inc., The Black Women Breast Cancer Survivors Project and Siteman Cancer Center. The Black Women Breast Cancer Survivors Project is headed up by Margaret Barton-Burke, the Mary Ann Lee Endowed Professor of Oncology Nursing at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

Online pre-registration is $12 and on-site registration is $17 (no cash accepted; credit cards only).
