UMSL was named an RCGA Greater St. Louis Top 50 Awards recipient.

As a major contributor to the St. Louis area’s economy and civic community, the University of Missouri–St. Louis received one of the St. Louis Chamber Regional & Growth Association’s Greater St. Louis Top 50 Awards. UMSL was profiled for the award in the November/December issue of St. Louis Commerce Magazine. The award recognizes outstanding St. Louis-area organizations and companies.

“Winning the award once was an honor,” UMSL Chancellor Tom George said. “Winning it for a second consecutive year affirms the commitment of our students, faculty and staff to improve the quality of life in St. Louis.”

In partnership with RubinBrown, the RCGA annually presents the awards to 50 outstanding companies and organizations. This is the 15th year for the awards. Winners are selected based on their significant contributions to the St. Louis region including the positive impact on the local business community’s future.

In the St. Louis Commerce Magazine profile, UMSL was distinguished by its large alumni base in St. Louis, faculty research and work toward improving underserved communities. The magazine also included a story about the Boeing Company’s $1 million donation to UMSL toward the construction of a new building for the College of Business Administration. And UMSL faculty were pictured and mentioned in an article for their participation in the upcoming International Conference on Information Systems.
