Members of the UMSL Percussion Ensemble perform at a concert at the Touhill.

The Afro Cuban and Percussion ensembles at the University of Missouri–St. Louis will explore the music styles of mambo, cha-cha and rumba for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16 in the E. Desmond and Mary Ann Lee Theater at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public.

The 12 members of the percussion ensembles will perform a range of rhythmic music, including songs by Dizzy Gillespie, Daniel Kessner, G.H. Green, Michael Burritt and Joshua Daly, a senior majoring in music at UMSL.

The percussion ensembles are led by Matt Henry, director of percussion studies at UMSL.

The Touhill is on UMSL’s North Campus, One University Blvd. in St. Louis, Mo. 63121. The concert is sponsored by the Department of Music at UMSL.
