University of Missouri–St. Louis accounting alumnae Audrey Katcher and Jeanne Dee were recently named 2010 “Women to Watch” by the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.

The award highlights the achievements of women in the accounting profession in two categories: Experienced Leaders (established members of the profession); and Emerging Leaders (in the profession less than 10 years).

Katcher, BA accounting 1990,  received the Experienced Leaders award. Katcher is a partner at RubinBrown LLP. She has more than 19 years of public accounting experience in several industries, including higher education, manufacturing and financial services. Katcher serves on UMSL’s Accounting Advisory Board, and she founded an ad hoc networking group for female chief audit executives in the region.

Jeanne Dee, BA accounting 2005, received the Emerging Leaders award. Dee is an audit manager at Kiefer Bonfanti & Co. LLP. She’s only been in the profession for five years, but has achieved the level of manager within her firm. Dee is active with various charities and organizations throughout St. Louis, including Support Dogs, Inc., a St. Louis-based nonprofit agency that helps people with special needs achieve an improved quality of life through the use of assistance dogs.

The St. Louis Chapter of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants  has more than 4,700 members in 11 counties.
